Sony May Launch Full Screen Design Smartphones at MWC 2018

Sony Xperia smartphones are known for sporting OmniBalance design a couple of years. However, new information suggest that the company may ditch OmniBalance for a full screen design on its upcoming smartphones.

Fresh information that has appeared on a forum site states that Sony will be adopting a new design called Mirai. This year there has been a trend of launching smartphones with full screen design that offers a higher screen-to-body ratio than conventional smartphones. Previous reports have revealed that Sony is also working on a full screen design phone which seems to be another hint that it may switch to a new design on its forthcoming smartphones.

The Japanese tech giant is known for releasing smartphones in two phases. The first set of Sony Xperia phones are showcased at the Mobile World Congress event that is held in February. The company also showcases new smartphones during the IFA event that is held in September. It is likely that the Sony fans may see full screen smartphone from the company at the Mobile World Congress event in 2018.

As of this writing, there is concrete evidence available on whether Sony would be really switching to a new design. The unannounced Sony Xperia X Ultra is rumored to arrive with a 6.4-inch full screen design that is likely to produce an aspect ratio of 21:9. It is expected to be driven by Snapdragon 660.
