On Feb. 14, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India. The Redmi Note 5 is nothing but the rebranded Redmi 5 Plus smartphone that was launched in China in December 2017. Rumors are rife the Redmi Note 5 Pro that is dubbed as “India’s Camera Beast” will be released in China as Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi has now officially confirmed that its upcoming Redmi phone is called Redmi Note 5 and it will be unveiled in the home country on March 16.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (2018). It is mentioned at the bottom of the image that the Redmi Note 5 will be launching in the home country on March 16.
It is the first smartphone ever to feature the Snapdragon 636 chipset. It has a FHD+ resolution supporting display of 5.99 inches. It offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. It has a dual camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel senor. A selfie camera of 8-megapixel sits on its front side. A 4000mAh battery equipped with fast charging technology powers the handset. The device will come preloaded with Android 7.0 Nougat skinned with the latest MIUI 9 version.
