Red Magic Gaming Phone Appears at Geekbench; Reveals Snapdragon 835

Red Magic gaming phone is an upcoming smartphone from the newly established gaming wing of ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia. The handset is slated to get official later today. previous leaks have revealed that the model number of the Red Magic gaming phone is NX609J. The same model number had appeared on Geekbench earlier in this week. Here is the snapshot of the Geekbench listing of the Red Magic gaming phone.

As it can be seen above, the Nubia phone with model number NX609J is running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone is fueled by msm8998 which means it features the Snapdragon 835. This contradicts the leaks surrounding the Red Magic gaming phone that claimed that it is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. The chipset is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. In single-core test, the handset has scored 1917 whereas in multi-core test, it has recorded a score of 6494.

There is nothing much known on the other specs of the phone. However, it is speculated to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio supporting screen. Also, it is likely to house a mammoth battery. Like the recently unveiled Black Shark gaming phone, the Red Magic also features a dedicated key to enter the immersive gaming mode.
