The Xiao AI voice assistant by Xiaomi was introduced on the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S that was unveiled earlier this year. A fresh leak reveals that the upcoming phones from the Chinese manufacturer will feature a dedicated button for launching the voice assistant. First of the two devices that are expected to arrive with a dedicated Xiao AI button are the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 and the unknown Xiaomi LEX phone.
The Chinese translation of the above leaked image suggests that the Xiao AI button placed on the left side of the upcoming Xiaomi LEX and Mi MIX 3 smartphones will have three functions, press, click and double-tap. Pressing the button will allow users to command the Xiao AI to do something. Clicking on it will probably wake up device and a double-tap on it will probably allow it to launch a pre-configured app or function.
Xiaomi President Lin Bin had released an image of the Mi MIX 3 in the recent past to tease its manual slider design. The left side of the device can be seen sporting a dedicated button for Xiao AI button.
The Mi MIX 3 is slated to get official in the coming month, but the exact launch date is yet to be declared. As of this writing, there is no information on the specifications of the Xiaomi LEX phone.
