Realme’s 64MP Quad Camera Phone to Launch in India

Last month, Samsung had introduced its 64-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. There have been speculations that it will be seen on upcoming Samsung and Redmi phones, but there hasn’t been an official announcement by any of these companies. Today, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth took to Twitter to confirm that the company will be launching India’s first 64-megapixel camera smartphone. He has also shared a camera sample that was snapped using the mysterious smartphone.

Sheth has not confirmed the name of the phone that will be equipped with 64-megapixel camera sensor. The watermark on the camera sample reveals that the mysterious phone will be equipped with four cameras on its rear. The 64-megapixel camera sensor can not only shoot good images in bright light, but it is optimized to capture brilliant 16-megapixel photos in low-light conditions. The sensor can also shoot 1080p slow-motion videos. It is also equipped with Super PD PDAF technology.

Realme is expected to announce the Realme 4 and Realme 4 Pro smartphones by August or September this year in India. The number 4 in their monikers suggest that the Pro model may sport a quad camera setup with 64-megapixel. There is a possibility that the new sensor could be made available through an entirely different phone. Sheth will be sharing more camera samples of the phone in the coming days. Hopefully, some of the specs of the phone will be also confirmed soon.
