Samsung’s Upcoming Clamshell Foldable Phone Appears in Leaked Photos

The Galaxy Fold is Samsung’s first foldable smartphone. The South Korean company intends to sell more foldable phones in the coming year. In October, at the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) 2019, the company teased that it will be launching a clamshell foldable phone in the future. There is no confirmation on the name of the device yet, but its arrival seems to be getting closer as couple of live shots of have emerged.

The new images show the purported Galaxy Fold 2 foldable phone with a tall aspect ratio display. Rumors have it that it could be equipped with a 6.7-inch screen. The images show that the display has an Infinity-O punch-hole design. The rear side of the device has 1-inch external display that can show notifications. There is a horizontal dual camera system along with an LED flash next to the secondary screen.

The right side of the phone features a volume rocker. The bottom side of the device has an external speaker and a USB-C port. The device does not seem to feature a traditional fingerprint scanner. Hence, it remains to be seen whether it will be arriving with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

There is no information on the specifications of the purported Galaxy Fold 2. The build quality of the device suggests that it could be packed with mid-range specs. Rumors have it that the next foldable phone from Samsung will be announced alongside the Galaxy S11 series in February 2020.
