Huawei’s CEO for Consumer Business Group Richard Yu had recently said during an official interview that the upgraded Huawei Mate X will be announced during the upcoming MWC 2020.
This device, dubbed as the Huawei Mate Xs, has already been certified by the Chinese 3C authority earlier today. It carries the model number TAH-AN00m and was listed with a blazing 65W fast-charging support. That’s certainly a huge boost to the current Mate X, which supports up to 55W wired charging.
Apart from an improved charging speed, the Mate Xs is also said to feature a better hinge, more resilience display and the latest Kirin 990 SoC according to Yu.

This device shouldn’t be confused with the Huawei Mate X2, which is slated to be announced during the second half of 2020. The Mate X2 is touted to be the second-generation’s Mate X that is likely to feature a brand new design language.
Currently, Huawei is one of the main market leaders in the foldable smartphone segment apart from Samsung. Despite carrying a hefty price tag of 16,999 yuan (US$2,403), the Huawei Mate X remain one of the most highly-sought after smartphone in the Chinese market.
In China, the Huawei Mate X had gained so much popularity among the consumers such that the device was sold out in a matter of seconds during the first few round of sales.
Sadly, we’d yet to actually see the Huawei Mate X in the global market possibly due to the ongoing US trade ban that resulted in the omission of pre-installed Google Play apps and services on the device.
