Earlier this month, Redmi had launched the Redmi K30 smartphone in China. The handset was introduced in 4G and 5G flavors. The 4G variant of the Redmi K30 is already available for purchase in the country. At the unveil event of the Redmi K30, the company had confirmed that the Redmi K30 5G will go on sale in January without mentioning an exact date. Later, the Redmi K30 5G was found listed on JD.com with a release date of Jan. 15. An official confirmation has come from Redmi today that the Redmi K30 5G will be made available for purchase in China on Jan. 7.
Rumors surrounding the Redmi K30 5G had claimed that it may hit the Chinese markets by mid-January. Now that the company has confirmed the Jan. 7 release date, it appears that it has ramped up its arrival. Probably, Redmi wants the shipping of the Redmi K30 5G on the same day when Realme unveils the Realme X50 as its first 5G smartphone in China.

The Redmi K30 5G that has a starting price of 1,999 Yuan comes with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display that offers 120Hz refresh rate and full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The dual punch-hole on the screen houses a 20-megapixel main lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear shell of the phone features a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera system. The Android 10 OS coupled with the latest MIUI 11 update runs on the device.
The Redmi K30 5G is driven by Snapdragon 765G chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The phone ships with up to 256 GB of storage. The device draws power from a 4,500mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
