Last year in July, Xiaomi had introduced the Black Shark 2 Pro gaming smartphone in China in two versions. It was made available in 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage models. Later in September, the company had launched 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage edition of the phone. Starting from today, the company has started with the pre-sales of a new variant that offers with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
The 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage editions of the Black Shark 2 Pro are respectively priced at 2,999 Yuan and 3,499 Yuan. The newly introduced 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the smartphone has a cheaper pricing of 2,599 Yuan.

Customers who are interested in purchasing the 8 GB + 128 GB Black Shark 2 Pro can participate in the pre-sale with a deposit of 100 Yuan. The final payment can be done on Jan. 14. It can be bought in a single color option of Electric Black.
Interestingly, the Black Shark 2 Pro’s listing on Xiaomi Mall does not have any of its 12 GB RAM variants now. It only lists the new 8 GB RAM edition. This could be a good hint that by selling Black Shark 2 Pro at a reduced price, the company could be gearing up to launch the Black Shark 3 gaming smartphone.
