Samsung has recently announced that the company’s next Unpacked event will be held on February 11th next month. During the event, Samsung is expected to unveil their latest Galaxy S20 series, as well as the next generation’s foldable phone.
The upcoming foldable smartphone was initially believed to be known as the Galaxy Fold 2. However, that appears to be false. According to a new report out of Korea, the device will be known as Galaxy Bloom.
According to the report, DJ Koh, President and CEO of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Communication division had recently held secret meetings with partners and carrier customers during CES 2020.
During the meetings, DJ Koh had reportedly revealed the name of the next foldable phone in his presentation slide. To support their claim, there is even an actual shot of the presentation slide taken during the one of the meetings.
In the same report, it also claimed that the device is tailored towards the younger females which probably explain why the Korean company has decided to name it “Bloom” instead of “Fold 2”. Apparently, the Galaxy Bloom design also drew inspiration from Lancome’s compact as well.
Besides that, it was also confirmed that the new Galaxy “S” series will be known as “S20” instead of “S11”. It’s initial lineup will consist of three devices including Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, as well as Galaxy S20 Ultra.
