Save the date: Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition is launching on April 28

Back in November 2024, Nubia unveiled the Nubia Z70 Ultra equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The brand has been teasing the arrival of a photography-focused phone for China for the past few days. Today, the brand released an official confirmation that it will hold a launch event on April 28 to unveil the Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition. The brand is also expected to announce a mysterious product alongside it.

Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition revealed

The official teasers show that the Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition will flaunt a unique design inspired by classic film cameras. It features a textured leather-style back panel that resembles fine calfskin, aimed at improving the in-hand feel while giving the phone a premium look. The camera housing adds a red accent ring and a “Neovision” insignia, further emphasising its imaging capabilities.

The camera layout is split into two sections by a bold horizontal line—placing the primary 35mm lens with an oversized sensor at the top, and a combination of periscope and ultra-wide lenses below. Nubia claims this configuration enhances balance and gives a distinct visual identity to the device. It will be available in black and orange color options.

The main 35mm camera is designed to compete with current top-tier 1-inch sensors in terms of light capture. One of the highlights of the Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition is its uninterrupted display. It is said to feature a 1.5K full-screen AMOLED panel, made possible by an under-display front camera—the only Ultra-series model this year to offer such a design.

As per reports, the Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising flagship-level performance. Additionally, the company may launch a Nubia-branded smartphone alongside the Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition.
