Huawei Mate Xs sold out within seconds during it’s debut sale

After a long wait, the Huawei Mate Xs foldable phone finally went on it’s debut sale in China today. As expected, the debut sale was short-lived as the device was sold out within seconds after the bell went off.

This wouldn’t be a surprise at all, given that it’s Mate X predecessor was also quickly sold out during the first few round of sales last year. According to Huawei, the next round of sale will commence again on March 8th.

Currently, the Huawei Mate Xs retails at a price of 16,999 Yuan (US$2,415) in the Chinese market for its sole 8GB+512GB model. Despite the hefty price tag, the Mate Xs still proves to be an extremely popular smartphone among the Chinese consumers.

In fact, the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip had also been selling like hot cakes in China – having sold out in the second round of sale earlier this week.

As of now, there is still no official words on the global availability of the Mate Xs in the global market. However, unlike it’s Mate X predecessor, Huawei has confirmed that the Mate Xs will eventually make it’s way to the global market.

As usual, the Mate Xs will continue to rely on the company’s proprietary Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead of Google Mobile Services (GMS) due to the ongoing U.S. trade ban.
