No doubt, AnTuTu is one of the best Android benchmark apps available in the market which is even widely utilized by many smartphone makers to determine the performance of their latest smartphones.
However, a trio of AnTuTu’s benchmark apps including Antutu 3DBench, Antutu Benchmark, and AItutu Benchmark were recently removed from the Play Store with no apparent reasons stated.
According to a report from Android Police (via GizChina), the sudden removable of the apps could be linked to Google’s crackdown of apps from developer Cheetah Mobile. However, that is based on the assumption that AnTuTu is owned by Cheetah Mobile.
Last month, Google had reportedly pulled out all Android apps which were published on the Play Store by Cheetah Mobile after repeated violations of the company’s policy.
Currently, some of the Play Store links on AnTuTu’s website had been replaced with simple APK links as noted by the folks over at Android Police.
We believe AnTuTu will soon provide some clarifications on this matter to Android Police, so let’s wait patiently for more updates on this matter.
