A recent report had claimed that the OnePlus 8 series won’t be made official in May, but it will be arriving in mid-April. It has been also said that the OnePlus 8 lineup will be announced in the second week of the next month. A reliable tipster has hinted that the OnePlus 8 series will be debuting on April 15.
Because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the launch event of the OnePlus 8 won’t be held offline. Instead, it will be an online livestream event. It is speculated that the company will only unleash the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro on the said date. In other words, the rumored lighter version called the OnePlus 8 Lite may go official few months later.
According to Winfuture.de, OnePlus had originally planned to unveil the OnePlus 8 series in March. However, due to the delays in development of the OnePlus 8 series caused due to COVID-19 outbreak, the company has reportedly decided to push the arrival on the OnePlus 8 models in April.
While the report states that the OnePlus 8 series will go live in mid-April, there is no word on its availability. As far as the OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone is concerned, previous reports have also claimed that its arrival may happen few months down the line. There is a possibility that the OnePlus 8 Lite may go official or release in the market in April.
While the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will be Snapdragon 865 mobile platform powered phones with 120Hz punch-hole displays, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to come with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it could be the first phone from the company to sport a MediaTek chipset. The 7nm Dimensity 1000 chipset from the Taiwanese chip maker is speculated to fuel the OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are rumored to support wireless charging.
