LG is known for launching G-series flagship phone in the first quarter of each. Recent reports had suggested that the South Korean company has adopted a new strategy for its smartphones wherein it will be rivaling the Galaxy S-series Samsung phones with its V-series flagship phones. Last month, Samsung announced the Galaxy S20 smartphones and few days later LG unveiled the V60 ThinQ 5G phone. However, it did not announce the speculated LG G9 ThinQ 5G phone. South Korean publication Naver has reported that LG is now working on the LG G9. However, it won’t be a flagship phone, but an upper mid-range phone with Snapdragon 765G processor onboard.
The report reveals that the LG G9 ThinQ phone will be featuring a 6.7-inch or 6.9-inch. The predecessor LG G8 phone from lats year was equipped with a 6.1-inch display. Just the V60 ThinQ features a waterdrop notch screen, the G8 may also arrive with a similar display design. It will be sporting an OLED display that produces full HD+ resolution.
The Snapdragon 765G that includes X52 5G modem will bring 5G capabilities of the LG G9 smartphone. The phone is rumored to be backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone is rumored to be priced at KRW 900,000 ($705).
The CAD renders of the LG G9 ThinQ smartphone were released by reliable tipster OnLeaks earlier this year. It revealed that the phone has a quad camera setup on its back. For audiophiles, the smartphone will be arriving with a 3.5mm audio jack and Quad DAC support.
There is no word on the launch date of the LG G9 ThinQ smartphone. Probably, the phone will go official in the second quarter of the year.
