As scheduled, Honor has officially announced the latest Honor Play 4T and Play 4T Pro during an online launch event. The Honor Play 4T is essentially an entry-level smartphone focused primarily on price-conscious consumers, while the Play 4T Pro is poised to be an affordable mid-ranger.
Honor Play 4T Specification
For starter, the Honor Play 4T features a 6.3-inches IPS LCD Display with HD+ screen resolution. It’s hole-punched compartment on the top-left corner houses an 8 megapixels selfie camera.
At the back of the device, there is a dual-camera setup affixed within a rectangular camera module. It has a pair of camera sensors which include a 48 megapixels main shooter and a 2 megapixels depth sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor located at the back as well.
As expected, the Honor Play 4T is driven by an octa-core Kirin 710A SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The device also support further memory expansion of up to 512GB via a microSD card.
To keep its lights on, there will be a 4,000mAh battery that does not come with any fast-charging support. The device will run on the latest Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10 (AOSP).
The Honor Play 4T is priced at 1,199 Yuan (US$170/ INR12,960) for the 6GB+128GB model in China.
Honor Play 4T Pro Specification
The higher-end Honor Play 9T Pro on the other hand, will sport a 6.3-inches AMOLED Display with FHD+ screen resolution. It will tout a 16 megapixels selfie camera in its dewdrop-notch and has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
On its flip-side, the Honor 4T Pro also has an upgraded triple-camera setup comprising of a 48 megapixels main shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Unlike the Honor Play 4T, the “Pro” version is driven by a buffed up Kirin 810 SoC assisted by 6GB worth of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The device supports Huawei’s proprietary NM card for memory expansion.
Although the device will maintain a same battery capacity of 4,000mAh, but it will be able to support up to 22.5W fast-charging.
In terms of pricing, the Honor Play 4T Pro will set you back with 1,499 Yuan (US$212/ INR16,210) and 1,699 Yuan (US$241/ INR18,370) respectively for its 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB models.
Following the launch of the Honor Play 4T series, all eyes are now on the upcoming Honor 30 series which will debut on April 15th.
