Honor 30 Series to Launch on April 15

Yesterday, Honor took off covers from the Honor 30S smartphone. It is the first ever phone to feature the Kirin 820 5G chipset. The company also unveiled the budget-friendly Honor 9A alongside it. Now, the company is gearing up to launch its next line of smartphones. The Chinese firm confirmed today that it will be announcing the Honor 30 series on April 15.

The above poster that features the popular Chinese actor Li Xian only confirms the April 15 launch date and reveals nothing about the Honor 30 series. The Chinese celebrity can be seen holding the device. However, the handset is held in such a way that nothing can be deduced on its features.

The confirmation on the launch date comes a day after OnePlus announcement on the April 14 launch date for the OnePlus 8 series. It appears that the upcoming Honor 30 and Honor 30 Pro will rival with OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro phones, respectively.

Past reports have revealed only few information on the Honor 30 series. A leaked presentation of the Honor 30 had revealed it will be equipped with a 1/1.3” Sony sensor which is identical size as Galaxy S20’s lens. The Sony sensor will have larger pixels of 1.2mcirons. The camera setup of the Honor 30 may include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 7XX lens, a 12-megapixel ultrawide shooter and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

The Honor 30 and 30 Pro are likely to be fuelled by the Kirin 990 5G chipset. Recently, the Pro model was spotted in subway encased in a protective cover. It only revealed that device has a pronounced curved screen and a pill-shaped cutout for the two frontal shooters. The Honor 30 and 30 Pro are expected to arrive with 40W fast charging support.
