OnePlus 8 series is coming on April 14th

The much waited news is finally out! The highly-anticipated OnePlus 8 series has been confirmed to arrive on April 14th next week.

During this event, OnePlus is expected to launch at least two devices which include the likes of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Although we’d heard of the “Lite” variant as well, but this device is unlikely to debut during the same event according to reports.

Prior to it’s official launch, numerous leaks pertaining to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have been leaked. This include both it’s official renders and specs.

In case you’d missed out, here’s what we’d learned so far about the duo.

The OnePlus 8 5G will feature a 6.55-inches AMOLED hole-punched display that compasses a FHD+ screen resolution alongside an impressive 90Hz screen refresh rate. The tiny hole-punched compartment will be home to a 16 megapixels selfie camera.

Over at the back, we will see a conventional vertical camera module which play host to a triple-camera setup that includes a 48 megapixels main shooter, 16 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as another 2 megapixels sensor which is believed to be a 2 megapixels depth sensor.

According to earlier reports, the OnePlus 8 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC which will be paired with an option of 8GB/ 12GB LPDDRX4 RAM and 128GB/ 256GB UFS 3.0 flash storage.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 8 will be fueled by a hefty 4,300mAh battery which supports 30W Warp Charge 30T fast charging. However, there will be no wireless or reverse charging capability on the OnePlus 8.

The OnePlus 8 Pro on the other hand, touts a slightly larger 6.78-inches display which has a buffed up QHD+ screen resolution and a higher 120Hz screen refresh rate.

It will keep the same Snapdragon 865 SoC, but it will be equipped with a much faster LPDDR5 RAM which has an 8GB/ 12GB options to choose from. Storage-wise, there will also be 128GB/ 256GB UFS 3.0 flash storage as well.

Unlike the vanilla OnePlus 8, the “Pro” model arrives with a quad-camera setup which play host to a 48 megapixels main shooter, 48 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 8 megapixels telephoto lens, as well as another 5 megapixels sensor which ought to be a depth sensor. The selfie camera will however be the same 16 megapixels sensor.

Needless to say, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with a bigger 4,510mAh battery which supports 30W Warp Charge 30T fast charging, as well as 30W wireless charging and 3W reverse charging.
