MediaTek recently confirmed that iQOO will be the first brand to make use of its Dimensity 1000+ chipset. It also said that the smartphone will go official soon. Shortly after the announcement, the rumor mill started speculating the device will be debuting as iQOO Z1. Today, the Chinese firm officially revealed that the iQOO Z1 will go official on May 19.
The launch poster of the iQOO Z1 confirms couple of vital information. First of all, it confirms the moniker and it states that its display supports 144Hz refresh rate. A punch-hole is available on the display at the top-right corner like the recently announced iQOO Neo3.
There is a possibility that the iQOO Z1 could be sporting the same 6.57-inch display that is available on the Neo3 device. The other thing that is revealed by the poster is that the phone will arrive with support for 5G connectivity.
The iQOO Z1 leaked shots that appeared over the weekend revealed that it will allow users to switch between refresh rates like 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz. After the iQOO Neo3 that debuted last month, the iQOO Z1 will be the second phone from the company to support 144Hz refresh rate.
The iQOO Z1 handset has a side-facing fingerprint reader. It is believed that the Vivo V1986A phone that spotted at the 3C database of China could be the iQOO Z1 phone. It revealed that the 5G-enabled V1986A could be coming with a charger that supports up to 44W fast charging.
