iQOO 5 Arriving as the First Commercially Available 120W Fast Charging Smartphone

iQOO has recently confirmed that it will be holding a launch event ton Aug. 17 to announce the iQOO 5 series. The lineup may include iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro. The Pro model could be arriving with support for 120W charging. Today, the company took to Weibo to reiterate that the iQOO 5 series will arrive as the first smartphone to be commercially available with 120W fast charging support.

The company claims that its 120W charging supported iQOO 5 series phones has received TUV Rheinland’s safe-charging certification. It is speculated that the iQOO 5 series phone with 120W charging support could be housing a 4,000mAh battery. The rapid charging tech can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery phone in just 15 minutes.

So far, iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO 5 series will be equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate supporting display, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It is speculated that the mysterious iQOO phone with 120W charging support that was showcased at recently held ChinaJoy tech expo could be the iQOO 5 series flagship.

The smartphone was seen with a curved display with a punch-hole design. There is no word on the size of the screen. The smartphone seems to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. There is no word on the other specs of the device.

The iQOO 5 is now up for reservations on JD.com. The listing has no information on the specifications of the smartphone.  However, it reveals that one of the handsets in the series has a V2024A model number. This model has received 3C certification with 55W charger and its Geekbench benchmarks from last month revealed specs like Snapdragon 865 and 8 GB of RAM.
