Starting with the front, the Xperia 8 Lite features a 6-inches FHD+ Triluminous LCD display which offers a nice 20:9 tall aspect ratio. Just like most other Xperia smartphones, the Xperia 8 Lite also has a thick bezel at the top which houses an 8 megapixels (f/2.0 aperture) selfie camera.

On its rear, the Xperia 8 Lite has a pill-shape camera module which houses a dual-cameras system consisting of a 12 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) primary shooter, as well as an 8 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) telephoto camera. Other than that, there will be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 chipset which will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage that could be further expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card.

To keep its light on, the Xperia 8 Lite is fitted with a 2,870mAh battery that is able to support long hours of usage within a single charge. On the software-side, it will be shipped with Android 9 out of the box.

Apart from that, other key highlights of the device also include its IPX5/IPX8 waterproof certification, as well as IPX6 dustproof certification. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

For those who’re interested, the Sony Xperia 8 Lite will be offered in two different colorways including Black and White. The device will be priced at 29,800 Yen (US$280) for its sole 4GB+64GB model in the Japanese market.
