As scheduled, Xiaomi has officially announced the latest Redmi K30S Ultra flagship phone in the Chinese market. Despite being marketed under Redmi’s branding, the device is predominantly a rebranded model of the current Xiaomi Mi 10T launched last month.
The Redmi K30S Ultra features a huge 6.67-inches, hole-punched LCD display which boasts a FHD+ screen resolution along with an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate which sync accordingly to the contents which are displaying onscreen.
Other than that, the front display is also topped with HDR10 and DCI-P3 color gamut support which will deliver an immersive graphical experience for its users. On top the front display, its also shielded by a layer of Corning Gorilla 5 glass to protect the front panel against scratches or accidental drops.
Over at the back, there will be a rectangular camera housing which is home to a triple camera setup. These cameras include a 64 megapixels (f/1.9 aperture) primary shooter, 13 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) ultra-wide lens with 123-degree FoV, as well as a 5 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) macro camera. Its camera department will be rounded up by a 20 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset which allows the device to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. This will be assisted by 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage.
To keep its lights on, the device is fitted with a massive 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. A single charge will be able to last the device for two days under normal usage condition. On the connectivitiy front, it is able to support 5G,Wi-Fi 6, NFC and IR blasters. It will be shipped with the latest MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box.
In the Chinese market, the Redmi K30S Ultra will retail at 2,599 Yuan (US$388) and 2,799 Yuan (US$418) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models.
