Huawei Mate 40E certified; could be powered by Kirin 9000E chipset

When Huawei announced the Mate 40 series smartphones back in October, only four different models including Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro (Review), Mate 40 Pro+ and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design were announced.

However, a new Mate 40 series smartphone bearing the Mate 40E moniker was recently spotted on Wireless Power Consortium’s database (via) which sparks curiosities on the identity of this device.

However, before we get too excited, this device is expected to come with largely similar specs as the vanilla Huawei Mate 40 except it will be powered by a slightly toned-down Kirin 9000E chipset instead of the Kirin 9000 chip.

Although the Huawei Mate 40 series had already been launched for quite some time, but only the Mate 40 Pro is currently available in the global market with other models limited only to the Chinese market.

Therefore, it remains pretty much a mystery whether the Mate 40E will eventually be heading to the global market in the near future.
