Xiaomi has officially announced a new 5G mid-ranger smartphone known as the Xiaomi Mi 10i. This device is essentially the global variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G which was launched in the Chinese market last year.
As expected, the newly announced Xiaomi Mi 10i continues to offer great value-for-money with an attractive price of INR21,999 (US$301) and INR23,999 (US$328) for its 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants respectively.
Upfront, the Xiaomi Mi 10i sports a 6.67-inches FHD+ LCD display which boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Most importantly, the front display is also HDR10 certified – a feature that we rarely sees among mid-ranger smartphone.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 10i is helmed by an octa-core Snapdragon 750G chipset designed by Qualcomm. This will be a 5G-ready chipset that allows the device to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.
For photography, the Mi 10i replies on a powerful quad-camera system led by a 108 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) ISOCELL HM2 primary shooter. This camera will be assisted by three other auxiliary cameras including an 8 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide lens, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) cameras for macro and depth information. Its camera department will be rounded out by a 16 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
Keeping its lights on will be a 4,820mAh battery that carries support for 33W fast-charging which is capable of delivering a full charge within 58 minutes. Aside from that, some other highlights also include the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers.
Following the launch of the Mi 10i, Xiaomi will also be launching the Redmi 9T and Redmi Note 9T 5G later this week.
