Honor has finally confirmed the launch date of the much-awaited Honor V40 handset. It is now known that the Chinese manufacturer will be holding a launch event on Jan. 18 to announce the smartphone. Starting from today, Honor’s online and offline stores will be receiving pre-orders of the V40. The teaser released by the brand revealed the front design of the smartphone.
The teaser shows that the Honor V40 will be sporting a tall aspect ratio display with curved edges. The top-left corner of the display features a pill-shaped cutout, which indicates that it will be sporting dual front-facing cameras. The poster suggests that the Honor V40 is equipped with super-slim bezels. Hence, it is likely that the smartphone will offer a screen space of over 90 precent.
There are rumors that the Honor V40 will be equipped with the same 6.72-inch OLED display panel that is available on the Huawei Nova 8 Pro phone that went official in December. Hence, the display is expected to offer a resolution of 1236 x 2676 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen is expected to support a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz.
Rumors are rife that the Honor V40 will be powered by the Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset. It is also speculated that the device will be equipped with a 64-megapixel quad camera on its back. The 3C certification of the smartphone revealed that it may carry support for 66W fast charging.
With 10 days remaining for the Honor V40 launch event, it is likely that the company will confirm some of its other features in the upcoming days.
