Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Mi 11 at the end of December in China. It debuted as the world’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. Today, Xiaomi Group Vice President Chang Cheng took to Weibo to confirm that the company sold over 1 million units of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in just 21 days.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 has been receiving a stupendous response in China since the day it was made available for purchase. In the first sale that was carried out on Jan. 1, the company achieved over 1.5 billion sales in 5 minutes in just 5 minutes. The smartphone is priced between 3,999 Yun ($618) and 4,699 Yuan ($726). It appears that the company may have sold around 350,000 units of Mi 11 in its first sale.
On Jan. 10, the company confirmed selling more than half a million units of the Mi 11 in the home market. And now, the Mi 11’s sales have exceeded the 1 million mark in just 11 more days.
The Chinese manufacturer is working on the global launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11. The handset has already been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S., which indicates that it may soon launch in the global markets. Speculations are rife that the company may also announce the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G smartphone along with the Mi 11 in the international markets.
As far as China is concerned, Xiaomi may launch a more advanced Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro handset in the home market in February. It could be the company’s first smartphone with an under-display camera.
