On Feb. 25, Redmi will be announcing the Redmi K40 series of smartphones. It is speculated that the M2012K11AC and M2012K11C that were recently approved by China’s 3C and TENAA certification platforms will debut as the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro, respectively. Yesterday, the M2012K11AC emerged on Geekbench with some of its key specifications.
On Geekbench 5, the Redmi K40 appeared with a Qualcomm processor that has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. The source code of the Geekbench listing revealed that the chip can achieve up to 3.19GHz processing speed. This suggests that it could be driven by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform.
On the other side, the Redmi K40 Pro is expected to arrive with Snapdragon 888. Redmi has been using the “dual flagships” term in its promotional posts for the K40 series on Weibo. Probably, it is because the K40 lineup has top-notch chipsets like SD870 and SD888.
Coming back to the Geekbench listing, the Redmi K40 can be seen with 8 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the handset scored 1016 and 3332 points, respectively.
The TENAA listing of the phone has revealed that it measures 163.7 x 76.4 x 78mm and it has a 6.67-inch screen with a top-centered selfie camera cutout. Redmi has already confirmed that the K40 has a 120Hz Samsung E4 AMOLED display and a 4,520mAh battery.
It is expected to arrive with support for 33W fast charging. The images of the phone have revealed it is equipped with a triple-camera system. However, the details of its cameras are not available yet.
So far, the Redmi K40 series devices had already achieved more than 260K registrations in the Chinese market.
