After several months of hiatus, Meizu is all set to launch the company’s first smartphones of the year – Meizu 18 series – on March 3rd to mark the company’s 18th anniversary. Ahead of its launch, Meizu has begun teasing on the Meizu 18 series smartphones by releasing a new teaser which revealed the front design of the devices.
Unlike the current Meizu 17 series smartphones which dons a hole-punch cutout on the upper right corner, the upcoming Meizu 18 devices settle for a central hole-punch design accompanied by subtle curves that run across the two sides of the display. The rear design however wasn’t revealed, so it remains a mystery at the moment.
As usual, Meizu is expected to launch a total of two devices which include the vanilla Meizu 18 as well as a higher-end Meizu 18 Pro. Just like the upcoming Redmi K40 series, the vanilla Meizu 18 is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the “Pro” model gets the flagship Snapdragon 888 chip.
Based on its earlier 3C listing, the Meizu 18 is likely to feature a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging, while the Meizu 18 Pro has a slightly beefier 4,500mAh battery with 40W fast-charging support.
Interestingly, past reports seem to suggest that the Meizu 18 series smartphones may not be coming with an in-box charger this time round.
