Vivo S9’s first sale surpasses 100 million Yuan in 9 seconds

Earlier this week, the newly announced Vivo S9 went on its debut sale in the Chinese market. As expected, the new S series smartphone continues to garner huge interest from the Chinese consumers, generating more than 100 million Yuan from its sale in just 9 seconds into its debut sale. This equates to between 30,000 to 33,000 units sold within the first 9 seconds.

In the Chinese market, the Vivo S9 is priced at 2,999 Yuan (US$464) and 3,299 Yuan (US$510) respectively for its 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB variants. Its in fact the first smartphone in the world to feature the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset.

Specs-wise, the Vivo S9 flaunts a 6.44-inches AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution and HDR10+ support. On top of that, it also carries support for 90Hz refresh rate and has a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio that promises an immersive graphical experience for its users.

In the camera department, the new Vivo S9 features a triple-camera system lead by a 64 megapixels primary shooter alongside an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens and a 2 megapixels macro camera. Upfront, there’s also a dual-selfie cameras consisting of a 44 megapixels primary shooter as well as an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens.

At the helm, the device is backed by a 4,000mAh batter which carries 33W flash charging support. On the software-side, it’ll be shipped with the latest OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11. Aside from that, other notable features also include its support for NFC connectivity as well as the presence on an in-display fingerprint scanner.
