OnePlus EB2103 certified by IMDA; launch could be imminent

Earlier this year, we’d already heard that OnePlus is currently prepping a successor for last year’s OnePlus Nord N10. While the actual marketing name of this device remains a mystery, past reports had suggested that the phone carries an internal codename EBBA and is likely to be the OnePlus EB2103 smartphone which was recently certified by India’s BIS authority.

Now, the same device has also been certified by Singapore’s IMDA authority which increases the likelihood that the phone will be launched in the upcoming months. Although we’re still quite some time away from its official launch, but we’d already gotten a good idea on its design courtesy of a set of CAD-based renderings published by reputable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer.

Based on the renders, we can expect the upcoming OnePlus EBBA smartphone to retain a largely similar design as the current OnePlus Nord N10. This means we’re looking at the same hole-punched flat panel upfront, along with the usual rectangular camera island on the rear side.

While the phone is said to sport a similar 6.49” display size, but it was noted that its overall dimension will be slightly shorter and thinner at 162.9 x 74.7 x 8.4mm. Furthermore, the phone is expected to feature a triple-camera system on the rear side this time round instead of a quad-camera system as in the case of the OnePlus Nord N10.

If you look closely at the renders, its also obvious that OnePlus had switched its rear-mounted fingerprint scanner to a side-mounted scanner which doubles up as a Power button. Other than that, the rest of the specs and features remain under the wrap at the moment.
