Huawei had held a massive launch event in the Chinese market today where the company officially announced the much anticipated HarmonyOS, as well as a wide range of IoT products including the new Huawei Watch 3 series smartwatches, MateView series desktop monitors, as well as the next-generation’s MatePad tablets.
On top of that, Huawei had took the opportunity to release the first-ever official promo teaser of the upcoming Huawei P50 Pro which offers us a glimpse of the device’s rear design that looks similar to what we’d seen from the earlier leaked renders.
On the outside, the Huawei P50 Pro looks vastly different from last year’s P40 Pro. More specifically, it’s camera department now features a pair of circular rings which houses a quad-camera system. The upper ring seems to come along with three camera sensors, while the lower ring gets a single camera sensor as well as a LED flash.
Similarly, the teaser also confirmed that the P50 series camera system will be co-engineered with German optics specialist Leica. Although there isn’t much information pertaining to it’s camera system, but earlier reports have suggested that it’s rear cameras will be lead by the long-rumored 1” Sony IMX800 sensor.
Under the hood, the phone is likely to be powered by the flagship Kirin 9000 chipset that was found in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro (Review). However, there were also rumors which claimed that the phone could also be powered by a Snapdragon 888 (4G) chipset as well.
