OPPO announced the Reno 6 5G, Reno 6 Pro 5G, and Reno 6 Pro+ 5G smartphones in May in China. Rumors dating back to the same month claimed that the company will be launching the Reno6 lineup in global markets in July. Earlier this week, OPPO Indonesia confirmed that it will be announcing the Reno6 series in the country on July 15. Today, the Indian division of the brand revealed that the new Reno phones will be unveiled in the country at 3 PM (local time) on July 14.
A microsite for the Reno 6 lineup is now available at the Flipkart retailer site of India. The landing page confirms that the company will be announcing two handsets namely Reno 6 5G and Reno 6 Pro 5G on the said date. The microsite also showcases the rear design of what appears to be Reno 6 Pro 5G.
The Pro model will be flaunting an AI-powered 64-megapixel quad-camera setup. Like the predecessor Reno 5 Pro, the successor will offer stellar photography and videography features. The phone can be seen sporting a power key, a speaker grille, and a USB-C port around the edges.
OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G Specifications
The Reno 6 Pro 5G has a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges and a punch-hole design. It offer an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The frontside of the phone sports a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and its back panel has a 64-megapixel (main) + 8-meagapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) quad-camera system.
The handset is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. The Dimensity 1200 chip fuels the phone with 8 GB / 12 GB of LPPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
OPPO Indonesia’s teaser for Reno 6 5G suggested that it could be a slightly different product as compared to its Chinese edition. It is unclear whether India will be also treated with the same Reno 6 5G that will be debuting in Indonesia.
