Google Pixel 5a 5G debuts with Snapdragon 765G chipset

Prior to the highly anticipated launch of the Google Pixel 5 series smartphones, Google has announced a new mid-ranger phone dubbed as the Google Pixel 5a 5G that comes with some neat upgrades over last year’s Pixel 4a 5G.

The phone arrives with a 6.34” OLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calling purposes. It’s also worth noting that the device does have IP67 rating for water and dust resistance as well.

On the rear side of the phone, the Google Pixel 5a 5G brings along a squarish camera island which is home to a dual-cam setup including a 12 megapixels (f/1.7 aperture) main camera as well as a 16 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide lens.

Under the hood, it’s powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 765G chipset that’s coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. As usual, the phone doesn’t comes with a microSD slot for storage expansion.

To keep it’s lights on, the Google Pixel 5a 5G features a respectable 4,680mAh battery which carries support for 18W fast-charging. For those who’re interested, the Google Pixel 5a 5G is available in a single ‘Mostly Black’ colorway, and is priced at US$449 in the U.S. market.
