Honor 50 lands in the global market; Malaysia got it first

After months of anticipation, Honor has finally announced the brand new Honor 50 smartphone in the global market that will be loaded with Google Mobile Services (GMS) – just like what we’ve been hoping for!

On paper, the new Honor 50 appears to be a pretty exciting mid-ranger which will provide tough competition to some of the best-known models in the global market including the OPPO Reno6 series devices. Without further ado, let’s check out what the Honor 50 smartphone have in store for us!

Right off the bat, the Honor 50 smartphone packs a 6.57” AMOLED display with subtle curves running across it’s two sides. It offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, as well as HDR10+ playback support.

On the imaging front, it sports an impressive quad-camera setup at the back which is lead by a 108 megapixels main camera alongside an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels monochrome lens. This will be rounded out by a 32 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calling purposes.

Under the hood, the phone is helmed by an octa-core Snapdragon 778G mobile platform which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department.

It draws power from a respectable 4,300mAh battery that carries support for 66W fast wired charging. Moving on to the software front, the Honor 50 boots on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 OS with GMS pre-installed out of the box.

In the Malaysian market, the Honor 50 smartphone is priced at RM1,699 (US$407) and RM1,999 (US$479) respectively for it’s 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
