OPPO K9s debuts 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 778G & 64MP triple-cameras

After launching the OPPO K9 and K9 Pro earlier this year, OPPO is now back with a follow-up model known as the OPPO K9s in the Chinese market where the phone will be going head on against some of the recently unveiled smartphones like the Realme Q3s and Vivo T1.

For starter, the OPPO K9s builds around a 6.59” LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 600 nits refresh rate, as well as a 16 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfies.

Just like the OPPO K9 Pro, the rear side of the phone feature a dual-tone design along with a rectangular-shaped camera module. The three cameras at the back include a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera for close-up photography.

Under the hood, the OPPO K9s is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 778G chipset which is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 765G chip that was used in the vanilla OPPO K9. In the memory department, it features up to 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage as well.

Moving on, the OPPO K9s is also backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging support. According to OPPO, a full charge from 0 to 100% takes a mere 59 minutes via the aforementioned fast-charging solution.

On the software-side, the OPPO K9s boots on the ColorOS 11.2 based on Android 11 out of the box. In the Chinese market, the OPPO K9s is priced at 1,699 Yuan (US$266) and 1,899 Yuan (US$297) respectively for it’s 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants.
