Several reports have claimed that Honor is working on foldable smartphones. Today, the company released a poster to tease the arrival of a new device named the Honor Magic V. The teaser image suggests that it could be Honor’s first foldable smartphone.
Reports have revealed that the design of Honor’s foldable smartphone will be similar to the Huawei Mate X2. The poster suggests that the Magic V will be sporting an in-ward folding design. Shown below is a leaked render of the alleged Honor Magic V that was recently shared by reliable tipster Teme.
It is speculated that the Honor Magic V may feature an 8-inch foldable display and it will be driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform. It is likely to house a 6.5-inch cover display. Honor’s foldable phone may feature display panels supplied by BOE and Visionox.
The Magic V may come with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. It may house a 4,500mAh battery with rapid charging support. For photography, it may feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel main snapper.
Now that the Magic V has been officially teased, it may launch as early as January 2022 in China. The Chinese manufacturer is also working on a clamshell phone with a foldable display. Both models are expected to launch in Q1 2022 in the home market.
In related news, Honor announced the Honor 60 and 60 Pro smartphones at the beginning of this month. Rumors have it that the company is working on another model called the Honor 60 SE. At present, there is no concrete information on the specs of the phone, which will be positioned lower than the vanilla Honor 60. The 60 SE may go official in January in China.
