Realme confirmed today that the Realme 9 series will be announced at 12:30 PM on March 10 in India. The lineup appears to include two models, such as the Realme 9 5G and the Realme 9 5G SE (Speed Edition). The latter seems to be a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Realme Q3s/Q3t smartphone from 2021.
The Realme 9 series landing page available on Realme India’s website reveals two models. The one on the left looks like the Realme 8 5G that debuted in 2021. The FCC images of the Realme 9 5G also revealed that it would look identical to last year’s model. In fact, it is likely to arrive with the same specs but differs in the chipset department. While the predecessor featured the Dimensity 700, the Realme 9 5G will come with the Dimensity 810.
Coming to the Realme 9 5G Speed Edition, the company has confirmed that it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 778G. It is also speculated to carry support for a 144Hz refresh rate. These key specs and the rear design of the Realme 9 5G SE are a good hint that it could be a rebadged Realme Q3s/Q3t. To those who are unaware, the Q3s and Q3t are identical smartphones. The only difference between the two models is that the Q3t is a cloud mobile phone, which gives access to apps, games, videos, and VR through China Telecom’s cloud storage service.
Realme 9 5G SE Specifications
The Realme 9 5G SE may pack the same specs that are available on the Realme Q3s/Q3t, which feature a 6.6-inch IPS LCD FHD+ 144Hz display, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 48-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. The Snapdragon 778G powered handset has up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
In India, the Realme 9 SE 5G is speculated to come in 8GB + 12GB version only. It may come in two colors such as Azure Glow and Starry Glow.
