Leaked information that surfaced in January revealed that Motorola is working on a flagship phone with the ‘Frontier’ codename, featuring a 200-megapixel primary camera. Well-known tipster Evan Blass shared a leaked render of the phone in February. It revealed that the device is equipped with a 194-megapixel primary camera. Today, a Weibo user released a live shot of the Frontier flagship to showcase its design in real life.
In the new image, the alleged Motorola Frontier can be seen flaunting a curved edge back panel with the Motorola batwing logo and a triple camera unit in the upper-left corner. The right spine of the phone has a volume rocker and a power button.
The protruding camera unit seems to have a primary camera on top followed by two camera sensors below it. The right side of the camera module has an LED strip and “200 MP HP1 OS f/2.2” text. Except for the imprinted text, the live shot of the Frontier matches with its leaked render, which was shared by Blass. As can be seen below, the render released by Blass has 194MP | OIS 1/15 text imprinted on the right edge of the camera unit.
Motorola Frontier Specifications (Rumored)
The Motorola Frontier will house a 6.73-inch P-OLED panel that produces a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip will power the device with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It is likely to draw power from a 4,500mAh battery.
Rumors have it that the device may support 125W of fast charging and 50W of wireless charging. For selfies, it may feature a 60-megapixel front camera. Its rear camera setup will comprise a 194-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The device is expected to launch in Q2 this year. It is speculated to launch as an Edge-branded smartphone.
There is a possibility that the live shot of the Frontier device could be a fake. Hence, it is advisable to take the report with a grain of salt.
