In May, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Soon after its announcement, Realme confirmed that its upcoming flagship, the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition, will come equipped with the SD8+G1 chip. Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared key details of a forthcoming SD8+G1 phone. It seems that he may have spilt some specifications of the GT 2 Master Explorer Edition.
As can be seen in the above screenshot, the tipster is talking about a flagship phone that will be stacked against the Redmi’s upcoming flagship, which appears to be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered K50 Ultra. He did not explicitly mention that he is talking about the Realme flagship. However, the comments section of the Weibo post does indicate that he may shared details of the GT 2 Master Explorer Edition.
To begin with, the GT 2 Master Explorer Edition may come equipped with a curved edge OLED panel with a centrally aligned punch-hole. It will offer a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, it may feature a 50-megapixel main camera.
Recently, Realme launched the Realme GT Neo 3 in two battery variants with support for different fast charging rates. It appears that the company may use a similar strategy for the GT 2 Master Edition. The leak suggests that the smartphone may arrive in 4,800mAh and 5,000mAh battery variants. The tipster revealed through another Weibo post that the former may support 150W charging, while the latter may offer 100W charging.
On a side note, Realme’s 100W charger having the VCBAJACH model number was recently spotted at the 3C certification site. In addition, reports have revealed that the Realme RMX3551, which was recently seen at AnTuTu benchmarks, will launch as the GT 2 Master Explorer Edition.
