Besides announcing the list of top 10 best-performing flagship phone for the month of May, AnTuTu has also released the ranking of top 10 leading ”sub-flagship” models in the Chinese market. Just in case you may not know, the list of top 10 sub-flagship models is a fairly recent category introduced by AnTuTu that ranks smartphone models that sit in between the flagship and mid-range models.
As usual, the data source of this ranking was culminated from AnTuTu Benchmark V9 from May 1st to 31st. It’s worth noting that the average score was calculated from more than 1,000 devices, and may continue to change as more devices are being benchmarked.
For the month of May, the new Vivo S15 Pro had emerged as the best-performing sub-flagship model with an impressive score of 814,995 points. The phone is powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset which will be paired with a blazing-fast 12GB LPDDR5 RAM along with 256GB worth of UFS 3.1 flash storage.
According to AnTuTu, the adoption of the enhanced versions of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage technologies are the key contributing factor for the Vivo S15 Pro’s impressive MEM score over the competing models.
As for the second to tenth positions, they are occupied by the fairly recent Realme GT Neo 3, Redmi Note 11T Pro+, OPPO Reno8 Pro+ 5G, Redmi K50, OnePlus Ace, Redmi Note 11T Pro, OPPO K10 5G, Vivo S15, as well as iQOO Neo6 SE.
In fact, it’s obvious from the ranking that the top 10 positions are largely dominated by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100/ Dimensity 8100-Max smartphones, except for the last two devices which are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 platform.
In the month of June, there might not be any significant changes to the top 10 list due to the lack of smartphone launches from this segment this month (at least from what we know at the moment).
