Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition’s existence was confirmed soon after Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset in May. The device was recently spotted on the TENAA certification platform with all its specifications and images. Today, Realme China CEO Xu Qi told Realme fans on Weibo that the GT 2 Explorer Edition will be coming out in July.
As can be seen in the screenshot above, Xu Qi took to Weibo to ask for suggestions about their next smartphone. According to his response to a Weibo user on the same post, the GT 2 Explorer Edition could cost around 3,000 yuan. In addition, he hinted that the device would break cover in July.
In addition, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that Xiaomi would announce the Xiaomi 12 Ultra featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip by early July. He also mentioned that the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer will debut very soon after the 12 Ultra. Hence, it appears that the GT 2 Master Explorer will break cover by early July.
Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition Specifications (Rumored)
Recently, a Realme phone with the RMX3551 model number was certified by TENAA and 3C certification sites. This device is likely to launch with the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer edition moniker. It will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and Android 12 OS with Realme UI 3.0.
The GT 2 Master Explorer will feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit. It will pack a 4,800mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
