Following the high profile launch of it’s Honor 70 series smartphones back in May, Honor is now back with a new budget-centric smartphone known as the Honor X40i in the Chinese market where the phone carries an affordable starting price of just 1,599 Yuan ($238).
The new Honor X40i builds around a 6.7” LTPS LCD display offering a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, it comes with an 8 megapixels front-facing camera tucked into a centered punch-hole cutout.
Over at the back, the Honor X40i features a pair of circular camera modules which appear to be inspired by the Honor 70 series devices. These cameras include a 50 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels depth sensing unit that helps with portrait shots.
Under the hood, the Honor X40i is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage which supports storage expansion via a microSD card.
The phone draws power from a modest 4,000mAh battery which brings support for a blazing-fast 44W wired charging speed. It will be shipped with a custom Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone from four different colorways such as Rose Pink, Silver, Green and Black. The Honor X40i is priced at 1,599 Yuan ($238) and 1,999 Yuan ($297) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB variants in the Chinese market.
