Official: Honor X8 5G debuts with Snapdragon 480+, 48MP triple cameras & 22.5W fast-charging

After launching the Honor X8 smartphone back in March this year, Honor is now back with a follow-up model with 5G capability in the global market known as the Honor X8 5G. Despite sharing a largely similar design, both devices actually share a largely different hardware specs under the hood.

The new Honor X8 5G comes with a 6.5” TFT LCD display which features a FHD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8 megapixels front-facing camera to help with both selfies and video calls.

Over on the rear side, the phone sports a square-shaped camera island which houses a triple-cam setup. Unlike the 4G model which has a 64 megapixels main camera, the new 5G model opted for a 50 megapixels main unit instead. This will be accompanied by a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information.

At the helm, the Honor X8 5G is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ chipset which will be paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. The phone will also be shipped with Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.

To keep it’s lights on, the Honor X8 5G is fitted with a large 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support. Other than that, the phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC support.

Those who’re interested can pick the phone from two different colors such as Midnight Black and Ocean Blue. At the moment, the company has yet to announce the official pricing and availability of the smartphone.
