Honor X8 heads to it’s first global destination

Chinese smartphone giant Honor has announced a new mid-range model in the global market known as the Honor X8. This device will be first available in the Saudi Arabian market where the phone carries an affordable launch price of just SAR899 (US$240) for it’s 6GB+128GB trim.

Although this device comes with a largely similar design as the Honor X30i which was recently announced in the Chinese market, but it actually features a completely different set of specs.

Starting with the front side of the phone, the new Honor X8 comes along with a 6.7” LCD display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfie and video call, it do feature a 16 megapixels front-facing camera situated within a centered hole-punch cutout.

In the imaging department, the Honor X8 relies on a triple-cam system at the back which is lead by a 64 megapixels main camera. This will be aided by a 5 megapixels ultra-wide unit as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for close-up and portrait shots.

Under the hood, the Honor X8 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset which will be paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage in the memory department. Like most other recent smartphones, the phone also features a smart memory expansion technology which adds an additional 2GB virtual RAM to it’s existing RAM.

To keep it’s lights on, the Honor X8 is equipped with a decent 4,000mAh battery which brings support for 22.5W fast-charging. Software-wise, it’ll be covered with Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 out of the box. Those who’re interested can pick the phone from a trio of colors such as Titanium Silver, Midnight Black and Ocean Blue.
