Lenovo Legion Y70 Set to Launch in August 13

Lenovo unveiled the Legion Y90 gaming smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset in the first half of 2022 in China. Reports have claimed that the company is working on a toned-down gaming phone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Today, the brand took to Weibo to release a poster for an upcoming phone named the Legion Y70. It has also been confirmed that the device will be available in China in August 13. Hence, the Legion Y70 could be the long-rumored Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered gaming smartphone.

The poster released by Lenovo confirms that the Legion Y70 will be equipped with a 50-megapixel triple camera unit, which will carry support for 8K video recording. The device has a boxy design with the volume buttons placed on the right edge.

Recently, a Lenovo phone with model number L71091 was certified by Chinese certification sites like TENAA and 3C. The listing revealed the images and key specifications of the device. Since the rear image of the L71091 matches the above poster, it can be said that it will debut in the Chinese market with the Lenovo Legion Y70 moniker.

Lenovo Legion Y70 Specifications (Rumored)

The Legion Y70 has a 6.58-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 device will have 8 GB / 12 GB/16 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB/512 GB of storage. It will boot to the Android 12 OS. The device will pack a 4,880mAh (rated value) battery, which will carry support for 68W fast charging.

The Y70 will have a 50-megapixel (main) + 13megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It will arrive in silver and grey colors.
