Lenovo has confirmed today that it will be announcing the Lenovo Legion Y70 at 7 pm (local time) on Aug. 18 in China. As the name implies, the Legion Y70 will be positioned lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Legion Y90, which was announced in the first half of 2022. However, the Y70 will come equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.
Apart from confirming the launch date, the company has also revealed key details about the Y70’s cameras and battery along with its charging capabilities. The rear camera setup of the device has a 50-megapixel main camera with 1/1.5-inch sensor size. The main snapper will offer features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and 8K video recording at 30fps.
The main camera will be coupled with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, which can also double up as a macro snapper. The camera setup will also include a 2-megapixel depth-assist lens, and an LED flash.
The device will be backed by a 5,100mAh battery that will carry support for 68W rapid charging. According to Lenovo, the smartphone can charge from 0% to 80% in 34 minutes. The massive battery will last around 8.5 hours of gaming, 18 hours of video playback, and 35 hours of music playback.
The TENAA certification of the device has already revealed its other specifications. It will arrive with a 6.58-inch AMOLED FHD+ display, which may support a 144Hz refresh and an under-display fingerprint scanner. For selfies, it will have a 13-megapixel front camera. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 device will have up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and Android 12 OS with ZUI 13. It will be available in three colors: Ice Soul White, Titanium Crystal Grey, and Flame Red.
