Vivo has officially announced a new entry-level smartphone in the Asian market dubbed as the Vivo Y02s which appears to be a successor to the March-announced Vivo Y01. Although the phone retains most of the key specs, but it has received a major facelift which allows us to differentiate it easily from the preceding model.
Right off the bat, the new Vivo Y02s features a 6.51” IPS LCD display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, it also has a 5 megapixels front-facing camera housed within a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.
Just like the Vivo Y01, the Y02s only has a single 8 megapixels rear camera that handles all the photography needs on the device. That means there wouldn’t be any macro camera for close-up or depth sensing unit for portrait shots.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y02s is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset which will be paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on will be a respectable 5,000mAh battery which tops at 10W charging speed. As usual, it’ll be shipped with FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone from two different colors such as Fluorite Black and Vibrant Blue. Pricing for the phone will start from 6,499 Peso ($116) for the 3GB+32GB trim in the Philippines market.
