The rumour mill has been leaking information about the upcoming Xiaomi 13 series for several months. The lineup reportedly includes two models, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Today, the company confirmed the date of the Xiaomi 13 series launch event for the Chinese market. In addition, it also confirmed some of the key features of its upcoming flagship phones.
The Xiaomi 13 series is scheduled to debut at 7:00 pm (local time) on Dec. 1 in China. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will both arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset onboard.
The company has released some official teasers to reveal the key features of the Xiaomi 13 lineup. Two devices have been teased in the launch poster above. The left one has a curved edge display, which appears to be the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The handset on the right has a flat screen, which seems to be a vanilla model.
Shown above is an official image shared by the brand. It reveals that the bottom bezel of the Xiaomi 13 measures 1.81mm, whereas its remaining bezels measure 1.61mm. The phone offers a 93.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. In another Weibo post, the company confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 series will be dustproof and water-resistant, with an IP68 rating.
The Xiaomi 13 rumors have claimed that it will house a 6.26-inch OLED QHD+ 120Hz display, whereas the Pro model will have a 6.7-inch OLED QHD+ 120Hz screen. Both devices are expected to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. The Pro model will have a 1-inch Sony iMX989 50-megapixel primary camera. The vanilla model will support 67W charging, whereas the Pro model will offer 120W rapid charging.
Xiaomi will also unveil other products at the Dec. 1 event, including the MIUI 14, Xiaomi Buds 4 TWS earbuds, and the Xiaomi Watch S2.
