Chinese electronics giant TCL has announced a new entry-level smartphone dubbed as the TCL 40 SE in the global market. The new model carries an affordable launch price of just $169 and is slated to be available in the European markets during the first-quarter of the year.
Right off the bat, the new TCL 40 SE packs a 6.75” IPS LCD display featuring a HD+ screen resolution along with a fast 90Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, it also has an 8 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a waterdrop-notch.
Speaking of photography, the TCL 40 SE also features a trio of cameras at the back comprising of a 50 megapixels main camera as well as a pair of 2 megapixels shooters for macro and depth information.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G37 chipset which will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage that support further expansion via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 5,010mAh battery which carries support for 18W fast wired charging. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with TCL UI 5.0 based on Android 13 OS. Those who’re interested can pick the phone from two different colorways such as Grey and Purple.
