Yesterday, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed the existence of an upcoming Red Magic phone called the Red Magic 8S Pro. The major attraction of the device is that it will be the first phone to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 chipset (tentative name). A new development reveals that the Red Magic 8S Pro will be announced on July 5 in China.
Nothing much is known about the specifications of the Red Magic 8S Pro. However, it is likely that apart from featuring the new chip, it will inherit the other specifications from the Redmi Magic 8 Pro, which was announced earlier this year. The unofficial AnTuTu listing of the device that surfaced yesterday revealed that it achieved the highest score of 1,704,113. Another report revealed that Qualcomm may announce the new chip in the coming week.
Hence, it is likely that the Redmi Magic 8S Pro with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 onboard will have a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1116 x 2480 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will run on the Red Magic OS 6-based Android 13 OS.
The device may come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It may house a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging support. For photography, it may feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit.
The Red Magic 8S Pro is not the only gaming-focused device that Nubia plans to launch. Speculations are rife that the company will announce a gaming-oriented tablet. Again, there is no information available on the specifications of the device.
